The Island Rangitoto is one of the youngest 50 volcanoes present in Auckland Volcanic Field Rangitoto, formed during a phase of eruptions about 600 years ago. Auckland's iconic volcanic Island is located 8 km northeast from the City, and approximately 30-minute cruise from the ferry terminal, Queens Wharf, Auckland.

The first tramping experience in Auckland, New Zealand before COVID-19 Starts. This travel content will show you the hiking experience in the Island of how we get in and out in the Majestic Island of Rangitoto.

“Te Rangi i totongia Teihu aTama-te-kapua ( The Day the blood of Tama-te-kapua's nose flowed) . The full name of Rangitoto, the ancient memoirs of the battle in island between Tainui and TeArawa .”

TRAVEL EXPERIENCE

My mates and I registered in an App called Meetup to attend a tramping trip together the group called Feet First - Wilderness Walk in and Around Auckland and was led by Mr. Stephen. Before the tramping trip, everyone must book a ferry ticket that costs NZD $40 back and forth towards the Island and back to the City. This is to secure a seat in the ferry since the Island is open to all tourists and backpackers to cross.

My mates and I woke up at 6:30 AM to pack our stuff we need and prepare our lunch. Waking up early is a must for us due to an hour train ride to get to the City and head towards the Island for the scheduled ferry ride at 8:30 AM. New Zealand is known for having magnificent scenery, The Government is really keen to preserve and protect everything related to nature. Before we get into the ferry, The wharf has a shoe cleaner to prevent contamination in the Islands.

Around 9:00 AM, My mates and I arrive at the majestic Island, there we re-group and discuss the entire trip's rules and guidelines. The group decided to cross the Island going to Boulder bay, which is approximately 2-3 hours to get. Walking to the rocks
